The FDA issued draft guidance for LASIK patient labeling recommendations in July 2022 that ASCRS and refractive surgeons consider “highly biased and misleading to potential patients.” During the FDA’s comment period, ASCRS submitted these and more specific comments. A recent paper adds to the body of research on the flanged method of intrascleral haptic fixation, with Kronschläger et al. describing how to “[attain] optimal flange size with 5-0 and 6-0 polypropylene sutures for scleral fixation.”
