If you’re planning to stay for a few days after the meeting, the Civic Theatre will be hosting the musical 1776. This reimagining of the popular musical tells the story of the Continental Congress and the Declaration of Independence.
An Evening with David Sedaris

If you’re in town before meeting, the Balboa Theatre will be hosting An Evening with David Sedaris on Tuesday, May 2 at 8:00 p.m. Best-selling author David Sedaris will share some of his stories and will be doing a book signing session.
Flower fields at Carlsbad Ranch
If you want to venture slightly outside of San Diego to Carlsbad, California, these flower fields bloom for around 6–8 weeks in the spring from early March to early May. There are nearly 50 acres of blooms. There are also various events that take place onsite throughout the bloom season.
San Diego Musical Theatre

San Diego Musical Theatre, a local musical theatre organization, will be showing Xanadu from May 5–June 4. The theater is located in Kearny Mesa.
San Diego Padres
San Diego’s Major League Baseball team will be playing at home at Petco Park against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday, May 5, Saturday, May 6, and Sunday, May 7. Check their website for ticket information.
