The ASCRS ASOA Party for a Purpose is back again this year. Attendees can enjoy a night of fun and philanthropy, with donations benefiting the ASCRS Foundation. The event will take place on Friday, May 5, from 8:00 p.m.–midnight at NOVA SD. Those who attend will be able to socialize with colleagues, industry leaders, and exhibiting partners while enjoying live entertainment and dancing the night away.

NOVA SD is a multi-level night club that features a rooftop lounge to enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather. Attendees can also check out the 360 photo booth.

ASCRS, ASOA, and industry attendees, as well as their guests, are welcome. The event will feature teams of “Celebrity Spin Masters” who will entertain and compete for donations to the ASCRS Foundation.

The inaugural Party for a Purpose was a hit at the 2022 ASCRS Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., said Sumit “Sam” Garg, MD. “There was a huge turnout, and we raised a ton of money for the ASCRS Foundation,” he said.

This year, Dr. Garg said there will be another team challenge to benefit the Foundation, as well as a raffle to win prizes. “Make sure to come out and support. Bring your friends!” he said. “I will be there again this year and look forward to an amazing night to benefit an important charity. Watch for links on social media and throughout the meeting where you can support the ASCRS Foundation.”

“Party for a Purpose was an exceptionally fun event where I got to spend time with the best ophthalmologists and industry professionals, all while lifting up the field of ophthalmology at the same time,” said Nathan Radcliffe, MD. “The fundraising was fun and competitive, and we were all biting our nails at the end to see which team would win the fundraising competition. Of course, we all won because the event was successful in raising money for the ASCRS Foundation. I will be back again this year to catch up with all my friends, to engage in some fundraising, and to help our field realize its bright future.”
