The ASCRS Foundation is excited to reunite with its supporters at the ASCRS Annual Meeting. They are vital to the domestic and international work in treating preventable cataract blindness and supporting physician education.

ASCRS Foundation Area

Foundation leadership, partners, supporters, and volunteers will be recognized throughout the meeting at the ASCRS Foundation Area located on the L Street Bridge on Level 2 of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Donors and volunteers can stop by to pick up their exclusive button to showcase their role in changing lives.

Attendees can meet the ASCRS Foundation team and learn how they can join fellow members and change lives through the ASCRS Foundation programs.

2022 ASCRS Foundation Volunteer of the Year Awards

The ASCRS Foundation Operation Sight program is fueled by a nationwide network of more than 700 volunteers who are dedicated to helping those in need in their own communities. The 2022 Operation Sight Volunteer of the Year Awards will launch in conjunction with the 2022 National Volunteer Week and the ASCRS Annual Meeting. Winners will be unveiled at the ASCRS ASOA Party for a Purpose and in the ASCRS Foundation Area.

2022 ASCRS Foundation Chang-Crandall Humanitarian Award

The ASCRS Foundation is proud to recognize Roger Ohanesian, MD, as the 2022 recipient of the ASCRS Foundation Chang-Crandall Humanitarian Award (see page 38 for more details). Endowed by a generous gift from David and Victoria Chang, the ASCRS Foundation’s Chang-Crandall Humanitarian Award was established to honor and recognize outstanding humanitarian work around cataract blindness. The Foundation renamed its highest honor in 2020 in recognition of the exemplary life and commitment to charitable service of Alan
Crandall, MD.
