In this issue, we explore some new technologies and techniques, specifically, the uses of anterior segment OCT for pre- and postoperative cataract surgery diagnostics. This is thoroughly reviewed by experts in the field and will help guide us on how to incorporate the technology into our practices.

We also learn some new and review some tried-and-true techniques for handling posterior capsular rupture during cataract surgery and how to manage dislocated lenses. Because these issues do not come up often in our surgical practices, it is important to review the general knowledge and any new techniques to better help us deal with them when they do arise.

Lastly, the ASCRS Annual Meeting recently allowed for us to learn about new techniques, technologies, and innovations in anterior segment surgery. It was great to be able to finally and comfortably do this in person again. The meeting was abuzz with symposia and courses on advances in machine and IOL technology. The atmosphere was so incredibly collegial.

It is important for us to learn about new innovations and to try and implement them. As learners, we become better teachers and are also able to give our patients better and more consistent outcomes. It is an exciting time in anterior segment surgery with a lot of new technologies around the corner.
