In his introduction to the Glaucoma section, Manjool Shah, MD, reflected on two evolutions explored in this issue: the expansion of surgical techniques and the critical recognition of the complete, human dimension of patient care.
“The challenges we face in glaucoma care, whether it's understanding complex conditions like pigmentary glaucoma or adopting transformative technologies like DSLT, are the very impetus for our continuous innovation and growth,” concluded Glaucoma Editor Manjool Shah, MD, after sharing his thoughts on these article topics.
Manjool Shah, MD, shared his thoughts on the topics of the Glaucoma articles: the often-asked question about the impact of lifestyle modifications, the increasingly critical imperative of sustainability in practices, and the rapidly advancing world of virtual visual fields and artificial intelligence.

Glaucoma Editor Manjool Shah, MD, previewed the articles in the section and shared his thoughts on using the past to guide the future. “However, we should not be deluded into thinking our feet are planted in cement, holding us back from achieving new heights,” he said.
“In this issue, we delve into some of the challenges of common glaucoma surgeries, as well as discuss exciting new technology that may provide us an opportunity to overcome barriers and provide high-quality care in a safer and more predictable fashion,” said Manjool Shah, MD, Glaucoma Editor, in his introduction.
Glaucoma Editor Manjool Shah, MD, shared the topics covered in the section and his thoughts on opportunities for innovation. “It has been and continues to be a journey of progress, innovation, collective action, mutual support and growth, and fortunately, the glaucoma genie doesn’t seem to have run out of wishes left to grant,” he said.
