Thursday, April 21
Eyecelerator
8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
The Eyecelerator meeting will take place at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel. The program will focus on ophthalmic innovation and will feature a variety of company showcases. The Winning Pitch Challenge will be included in the program.



Friday, April 22
Subspecialty Day
8:00 a.m.–4:45 p.m.
A full day of Subspecialty Day programming will cover topics in refractive, cornea, and glaucoma. There will also be Subspecialty Day exhibits.
ASOA Pre-Conference Deep Dives
8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
The ASOA program will feature several Pre-Conference Deep Dives on Friday.
YES Skills Labs
Throughout the day on Friday will be various YES Skills Labs focusing on phaco, anterior segment surgery, and DMEK/DSAEK.
ASCRS Satellite CME: Ophthalmology Quicksand Chronicles
11:45 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Ophthalmology Quicksand Chronicles explores the unexpected, often vulnerable surgical experiences or “quicksand” moments that anterior segment surgeons may encounter. Attendees will be able to hear from an expert panel about how they evolved from their own quicksand moments and important lessons learned.
Party for a Purpose
8:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m.
Celebrate with friends while supporting a good cause. Join ASCRS and ASOA for live entertainment and dancing at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel. Donations will support the ASCRS Foundation.



Saturday, April 23
ASOA Opening General Session
8:30–10:00 a.m.
The ASOA Opening General Session will feature Bill Stainton, presenting “Connect the Dots: Breakthrough Thinking for Ophthalmic Professionals.”
ASCRS Exhibit Hall
9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
The ASCRS Exhibit Hall will be open 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on the lower level in Halls A & B.
ASCRS Opening General Session
10:00–11:30 a.m.
The official opening of the ASCRS Annual Meeting will take place on Saturday morning. It will include addresses from leadership, presentation of the ASCRS Educator Award, the ASCRS Ophthalmology Hall of Fame ceremony, keynote speaker Chris Wallace from CNN, and the ASCRS Binkhorst Lecture delivered by Rosa Braga-Mele, MD.
Welcome Lunch
11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Complimentary lunch will be served in the Exhibit Hall, giving attendees the chance to mingle with others and network with exhibitors. All attendees are invited.
ASCRS Satellite CME: Putting it All Together: The Patient Refractive Journey
3:30–6:00 p.m.
This session will discuss how refractive surgery techniques and technologies can be implemented to provide refractive independence over the lifetime of a patient, solve complicated refractive challenges, and enhance the results of previous refractive surgeries. This program is also part of the ASCRS Beyond 20/20 series.



Sunday, April 24
Sunday General Session
10:00–11:30 a.m.
The Sunday General Session will include the presentation of the Chang-Crandall Humanitarian Award, followed by guest speaker William Flanary, MD (aka Dr. Glaucomflecken). The session will also include the Lindstrom Symposium and Richard L. Lindstrom, MD, Lecture, to be given by Warren Hill, MD.
ASCRS Satellite CME: The Glaucoma Treatment Spectrum: Meds, Sustained Delivery, and MIGS
11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
This program is designed as a compact review of key surgical and therapeutic glaucoma treatments. Faculty will explore the various considerations for MIGS to include standalone and next-generation devices and provide the latest details on glaucoma medical therapy.
ASCRS Satellite CME: Phaco Fundamentals: Optimizing Phaco Dynamics for Brunescent and Challenging Cataracts
3:30–6:00 p.m.
This program will discuss principles for adjusting and optimizing phaco machine settings for both routine and complex cases. Special attention will be given to surgical strategies for rock hard cataracts and complicated cases.
eyePAC Reception
6:30–9:00 p.m.
The ASCRS Government Relations’ eyePAC Reception will take place at the National Archives Museum. The event is open to ASCRS members who have contributed to eyePAC in 2022.



Monday, April 25
ASCRS Satellite CME: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: When Identifying the Problem Is Not Enough, Leadership Must Take Action
7:45–9:30 a.m.
This interactive event works to increase awareness, foster open communication, and highlight resources to empower members to take action to improve patient care, staff retention, practice partnership recruitment, and more.
ASOA Monday General Session
8:30–10:00 a.m.
The keynote speaker for ASOA’s Monday General Session is Laurie Guest, who will present “Life in the Espresso Lane: How to be Smooth, Bold, and Balanced in a Fast-Paced World.”
Innovators General Session
10:00–11:30 a.m.
The Charles D. Kelman, MD, Innovator’s Lecture will be given by Francis Price Jr., MD. Other presentations related to innovation will be included in the session as well.
ASCRS Film Festival
5:15 p.m.
The 40th ASCRS Film Festival will take place on Monday evening, with a reception at 5:15 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 5:45 p.m.
Tuesday, April 26
The Best of ASCRS 2022 General Session
10:00–11:30 a.m.
This wrap-up session will highlight some of the most important and interesting papers presented at the meeting from among the Best Paper of Session winners.
