Chief Medical Editor

For 25 years, EyeWorld has been a shining beacon of the best source for everything I need to know about cataract, refractive, cornea, and glaucoma. EyeWorld has been an international source of the best information in ophthalmology. Important stories have been brought to my door with multiple sources of documentation and credibility. EyeWorld has been a welcome friend that I look forward to seeing on a regular basis.
One of the highlights of my professional career has been the opportunity to serve as chief medical editor of EyeWorld for the last 6 years. I followed David Chang, MD, who set a high standard of excellence, and I have worked closely with the editorial staff, section editors, and Editorial Board. I simply try to maintain the level of excellence they bring to the publication.
My mission continues to be bringing the most important articles in the world of anterior segment surgery to our readership. Additionally, I have tried to emphasize the joy and privilege it is to be an ophthalmologist, given the opportunity to improve vision and quality of life for patients with the technology and techniques covered in EyeWorld.
During my tenure as chief medical editor, we have highlighted several disruptive technologies for our readership, including new multifocal and extended depth of focus IOLs, SMILE, wavefront and topographic corneal ablations, advances in dry eye therapy, and new MIGS devices for not only glaucoma specialists but comprehensive ophthalmologists. These technologies change the way we practice, and the articles in EyeWorld include cutting-edge analysis of these advances. This has been an incredible honor. Congratulations to the entire team at EyeWorld for 25 years of excellence, changing the way we learn about new technology, making us better ophthalmologists, and advancing patient care.
