LensAR names new Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Operating Officer

LensAr, Inc., a developer of next-generations laser technology for cataract surgery and presbyopia, has made two moves in their executive branch. Nicholas Curtis joins the company as its new chief commercial officer and Lothar Kobb is now chief operating officer. Together, Curtis and Kobb bring 60 years of experience to LensAr. Curtis most recently served as vice president of sales at WaveTec Vision, and Kobb is a general partner at Extera Partners, a business advisory group he co-founded.

The company says the moves are the latest step in an effort to commercialize its LensAR Laser System. Earlier this year, LensAr received a clearance from the Federal Drug Administration to use the laser system for anterior capsulotomy during cataract surgery. "We are thrilled to add both Nick and Lothar to the LensAR team," said Randy Frey, founder and chief executive officer of LensAR, in a statement. "Nick has an impressive track record of developing and implementing successful commercialization strategies in the ophthalmology industry, while Lothar brings significant global experience in developing and commercializing innovative medical device, imaging, and instrumentation products."
